Cut Throat is a 3-player trick-taking card game played with a 54-card deck (standard 52 plus the Big and Little Jokers). Each player gets 18 cards with nothing left over.
Each round, players are assigned a position with a different target number of "books" (tricks) they need to win:
Roles rotate every round so everyone takes a turn in each spot.
The dealer calls the trump suit before plucking begins. Jokers are always the top two cards regardless of trump. The Big Joker beats everything; the Little Joker beats everything except the Big Joker.
If you fall short of your book target, you owe plucks to whoever beat theirs. A pluck is a blind card swap: offer a bait card in a suit, and the other player gives back their highest card in that suit. If they have nothing higher, your bait card comes back. You can also skip a pluck if you don't want it, but it still counts as given.
The game ends when a player is projected to hit 7 total plucks. Whoever has given the fewest plucks wins. A tie is called a "cat game." If one player knocks out both opponents in the same round, that's a Double Up.
If you see a small banner pop up saying someone's looking for multiplayer, that means a real player just joined the public queue — tap Join Multiplayer to go play with them instead of AI.
Game sounds respect your phone's silent switch — if you don't hear anything, check that your ringer is on. Want sound off while your ringer stays on for calls? Use the Sound toggle at the bottom of the lobby instead.
Best way to learn? Just jump in. The AI won't judge you.

Playing as a guest? No sign-in means no account and nothing stored about you.
No payment info, no location data, no ad trackers, no device fingerprints, no cross-site tracking. We don't sell your data, period.
We use Google OAuth 2.0 with basic profile scope only. We have no access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google service. You can revoke access anytime through your Google Account settings.
Your data lives on secured servers behind HTTPS/TLS encryption. We follow industry-standard security practices, though no service can guarantee 100% security.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time. EU residents have GDPR rights and California residents have CCPA rights. Just email us and we'll handle it within 30 days (45 days for CCPA requests).
Cut Throat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Material changes will be reflected with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
